Hoping I can give some help to the next person looking into these arming doublets.
Shipping and Purchase: Burgschneider's shipping, packaging, and tracking were all excellent. Got to my door very quickly and the cost was reasonable. e.g., the regular Burgschneider experience.
Material: This has a very "modern" look and feel if you can't see the front fasteners - comfortable and looks great. Even the higher collar doesn't irritate my neck because the fabric and stitching are really good quality.
Fit: Here's where things go a little wrong. I'm a 52" (132cm) chest and 42" (106cm) waist, measured at apex of a deep breath. Sizing guide for the 2XL is:
2XL - Chest circumference: 138 cm, Waist circumference: 118 cm, Sleeve: 64.5 cm
I can barely get the thing closed up and no room to move it in after that. I understand its going to be a snug experience, especially when compared to a quilted gambeson, but I'll need to lose a few more inches to be actually comfortable and mobile in this doublet.
